BOCN - the Barn Owl Conservation Network
This UK-wide voluntary network of licensed Advisors works with farmers and landowners to conserve wild Barn Owls habitats and nest sites. Set up by Colin Shawyer of the reg.charity the Hawk & Owl Trust after his survey revealed a 69% decline over 50 years. Includes: News, Forum, Info, and Populations.

Ecological Literacy Project
The Project engages middle and high school students in a science-based exploration of their local environment and trains them in professional radio production. With guidance from radio professionals from Living On Earth, NPR's weekly environmental news program, students work is broadcast over local and national radio and is featured on Living On Earth's website.

Toshiba/NSTA ExploraVision
A K-12 competition combining science, creativity, and technology with a chance to develop websites and win $10,000. Students consider the impact science and technology have on society and how innovative thinking can change the future, then propose a scientifically sound technology of the future. It’s challenging, it’s fun and it’s a catalyst for experiencing the joys and wonders of science.

University of Minnesota Duluth Center for Environmental Education
Degrees in Outdoor & EE: Undergrad, Grad, and Post-Baccalaureate (Certificate in Environmental Education) programs offered. Different approaches dependent upon the primary education setting - formal (pre-K to 12) or non-formal (nature centers, State & Natl. parks, collegiate outdoor programs, etc.)

Bug Containers
Various cages and other bug containers are offered for the teacher, zoo or museum professional, or the home schooler. Naturalists doing outreach programs will find these containers sturdy and safe. Site includes a curriculum for using bugs in the classroom. There is also an "Ask the Bug Doctor" section and some material for kids.

Alliance for New Jersey Environmental Education
The Alliance for New Jersey for Environmental Education (ANJEE) was established in 1985 to provide a networking forum for New Jersey's environmental educators. Site includes upcoming events, information about ANJEE, and membership information. Affiliate Liaison: Marc Rogoff.

Yosemite National Park Interactive Classroom
This was created for Yosemite's Education office. It replaces a book that local teachers could use to take students on a field trip to the park. Targeted to grades 4-6, it contains interactive maps, a Field Journal, and a virtual hike. Users can “visit” the park regardless of where they live and learn about topics such as geology, using the park as the setting.

Fathom
Fathom is an online learning site featuring free content from a prestigious consortium of academic and cultural institutions, including Columbia University, Cambridge University Press and the Natural History Museum (UK). Exploring Biodiversity is a "special learning center featuring the latest scholarship and research from experts at Fathom's member institutions."

Man, Kayak, and the Whale
Richard Roshon's multi-media presentations for audiences in Hawaii and throughout the United States. Also offers kayak tours on Maui.

National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT)
With programs in energy, agriculture and communities, NCAT provides information and access to sustainable technologies community-based approaches that can help improve the lives of economically disadvantaged people.

Sierra Student Coalition
The Sierra Student Coalition, the student-run arm of the Sierra Club, offers summer high school and college student environmental leadership training programs.

U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service – Hey Teachers!
Provides access to substantial amount of information on endangered species, including a teachers packet containing fact sheets and activities. Also provides links to other educational resources.

U.S. Fish & Wildlife Svc – Division of Education Outreach
“The Division of Education Outreach provides training and support for conservation professionals to develop and implement collaborative education, outreach and heritage programs which achieve conservation goals.” This site includes an on-line slide show about endangered species and links to other environmental education resources.

Schaeffer Elementary Environmental Science Signature
The Schaeffer Elementary School has developed an environmental science signature. This site includes sites to be integrated with the curriculum along with lessons and activities for teachers.

Canadian Journal of EE - Call for Papers
CJEE would like to compile a series of papers which will provide background, historical context and a foundation for discussion and debate about methodology and method in several emerging genres of inquiry in environmental education. Submissions accepted between 9/1 & 11/15. Send a one-paragraph outline by August 31st.

Actionbioscience Grades 6-12 - Undergrad Lessons Directory
Articles and lessons (MS-undergrad) focus on issues in biodiversity, environment, genome, biotechnology, evolution, new frontiers in the sciences, and education. Lessons are written by educators and correlated to NSES standards.

Induambiental.cl
"Industry&Environment Program" was created in 1998 in Chile for training industrial school teachers (technical secondary schools)on environment. It demonstrates that it is possible to compatibilize environment protection and industrial process through pollution prevention programs applied in the school, industries and local communities.

Brown Bear Resources
Brown bear resources is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the grizzly bear. We have info about our org as well as our storefront where we raise funds. We answer questions, loan out educational material and give educational presentations.

ClimateArk - Climate Change Portal
Dedicated to promoting public policy that addresses global climate change through reductions in carbon dioxide and other emissions, renewable energy, energy conservation and ending deforestation.

Wilson's Almanac and Planet Directory
Teachers find the material in this daily, color, email magazine stimulates class discussion on history, environment, literature and many other subjects. These topics are discovered through the Wilson's Almanac theme of how to celebrate every day of the year. Planet Directory has 3,400 links.

Environmental Internship Program with Two Worlds United
Two Worlds United is a non-profit educational foundation that provides intercultural educational programs for youth. Environmental internships abroad are offered in countries such as Costa Rica, Ecuador and Australia. These internships last from 4 weeks to 11 months. Applications can be requested by contacting the Two Worlds United Admissions office.

Training Student Organizers program at the Council on the Environment of New York City
The New York City TSO program at CENEYC allows junior high and high school students to engage their peers and thousands of citizens in environmental improvement projects-- including water conservation, solid waste reduction, energy conservation and more -- in neighborhoods, schools and homes in all four boroughs.
