The IslandWood Graduate Residency in Education, Environment and Community, in partnership with the University of Washington, is a unique immersion experience in learning and teaching at one of the nation’s most innovative and sustainable campuses. Graduate studies include experientially based courses in education and professionally mentored teaching of children from urban Seattle and surrounding counties in our four-day residential program. Using cultural and natural communities as a context for learning, graduate students teach children the importance of environmental and community stewardship.
